UAE STC Wins Award at IMEWE Conference in Dubai

STC Group was awarded during the opening ceremony of IMEWE conference held in Dubai on 29th May. STC Group received the award in recognition of its innovative leadership in submarine, ground cable, telecommunications services and providing international links at high speeds which connects the Kingdom with France, Italy, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, India, Pakistan and the UAE.

Dr. Homoud Mohammed Al Kusayer, Vice President for Wholesale, explained, “This project is in line with STC’s strategy to develop and extend its international network to meet the growth in telecommunications services and Internet”. Dr. Homoud added, “The cable is aimed specially to avoid interruptions that may affect performance”. He has indicated that telecommunications services and Internet access are considered the prerequisite for modern lifestyle.

Dr. Homoud indicated that IMEWE cable will provide high speeds connectivity for the Kingdom and the Western countries in Europe, in addition to India, South East Asia and North America.

STC is continuing to play its innovative leadership role in the submarine cable projects in the region. The whole region will benefit from international speeds which meet the demands of customers and operators. This also marks a new era in providing creative solutions and applications built on the internet services, especially high speed broadband and the interactive TV (Invision), content services, and FTTH service.
