Sevan Brasil Experiences Problems with BOP Control Systems

SEVAN BRASIL

Sevan Drilling announces that in connection with testing of the blowout preventer (“BOP”) on Sevan Brasil, the company has experienced problems with the BOP control systems.

The company is currently preparing to pull the BOP to the surface to investigate and make required repair.

Sevan Brasil is contracted to Petrobras S.A. on a six year contract for drilling operations offshore Brazil.

The Rig was accepted by Petrobras on 24 July 2012 and spudded it‘s first well on the 31 August in Santos basin at a water depth of 1 800 m.
