Magseis, together with its partner BGP Arabia, has started seismic acquisition on Saudi Aramco’s S78 project in the Red Sea.

BGP won the bidding on Saudi Aramcos S78 project in January. The S78 represents Saudi Aramco’s first 3D survey project in the Red Sea region.

The survey will be recorded with Magseis’ proprietary MASS system and deployed in water depths up to 1000 meters.

According to the earlier Magseis statement, the OBS vessel, Artemis Athene, will be used for the survey.

The project has an expected duration of 9 months and a 12 month extension option, Magseis informed.

The companies did not disclose the commercial terms of the contract.
