The Brazilian Innovation Agency confirmed its sponsorship of Accelerate Oil & Gas 2013 as a prestigious main economic agent which is linked to the oil & gas market in Brazil.

Once again, FINEP with its long traditional financial funding of oil & gas projects will participate in Accelerate Oil & Gas 2013 which will take place at the Windsor Barra Hotel, Rio de Janeiro, on 21-22 May. Syrio Mauricio Alves, Head of Oil, Gas and Marine at FINEP will share the opening session on day 1, as well as joins the session “Financing & investment in oil & gas”. To strengthen the participation of FINEP, Mauricio will also discuss matters related to the segment on the topic “Meeting the environmental challenges”.

The agency linked to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT) and in 1999 together they created CT Petro fund, one the first of the 15 sectored funds raised to be part of the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT) funds whose aim to stimulate innovation for productive chain of the oil & gas sector, training and qualification of human resources and the development of partnership projects between companies and universities, higher education institutions and research centres in the country to increase production, reducing costs and prices and improving product quality in the industry.
