HVPD: HVAC and MVAC Cable Monitoring (VIDEO)

HVPD, a company with over 15 years of experience in offshore and onshore PD test services developed the offshore wind farm subsea HVAC and MVAC cable monitoring.

HVPD’s new integrated Offshore High Voltage Network Monitoring System (OHVMS) addresses the emerging industry demand for a holistic condition monitoring of critical subsea MV and HV AC cable networks.

The OHVMS has been developed to meet the specific requirements of the offshore wind farm renewables market and provides an advanced, ‘early warning’ against cable insulation faults through the detection of:

- Early-stage partial discharge (PD) activity

- Power quality / harmonic issues

- Sheath currents and overvoltage / overcurrent events
