Odfjell's Rig Sinks at Korean Yard

On 28 December 2013, the semisubmersible “Deepsea Aberdeen”, currently under construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in Korea, experienced water ingress on pontoon while moored at the yard’s quay.

Immediate evacuation was commenced and the rig was stabilized on the sea bed with draft at around 21 meters.

No injuries to personnel have been reported.
