Grid and Market Integration Crucial for Europe’s Renewable Energy

IEA-Chief

IEA executive director Maria van der Hoeven recently pointed out the importance of Europe’s investment in grid and market integration if it wants to remain at the top of renewable energy business.

She will speak further at the opening of the EWEA 2014 Annual Event on 10-13 March, which will focus on how wind energy companies could “get back to business”.

For the Portuguese energy minister, who will also give a keynote speech, an essential condition for boosting business and green growth is an ambitious and binding 2030 renewables target.

On Monday 10 March at 12:30 Spanish and European political and industry experts will hold a press conference on “Over and out? What’s next for the Spanish wind energy industry.”

CEOs of leading industry companies such as Alstom Wind, Gamesa, Acciona Energy, ERG Renew, Enel Green Power, EDP Renováveis and Iberdrola will discuss what they are already doing to get back to business in a panel debate, followed by a press conference on 11 March at 10:30.
