2G Robotics Sets Up UK Headquarters in Aberdeen

2G Robotics opened a new office in Aberdeen, Scotland. The new office will serve as 2G Robotics United Kingdom headquarters.

Strategically situated along the shores of the North Sea, the new 2G Robotics Aberdeen office will improve 2G Robotics’ ability to interact with companies who are exploring improved subsea survey and inspection technology. 2G Robotics believes that, being on location where their equipment is deployed, over all customer education and experience will be better achieved.

Jason Gillham, CEO of 2G Robotics, explains, “Our decision to open the new office was influenced in part by the overwhelming response we have had to the newly released ULS-500 Underwater Laser Scanner. The system has created quite a buzz in the offshore oil and gas industry.”

The ULS-500 Underwater Laser Scanning system is designed to obtain high resolution point cloud data while moving, deployed on an ROV or AUV. The system obtains sub millimeter resolution point cloud data faster than traditional survey tools. With this improved quality of information, asset managers can reduce risk when making crucial decisions about asset safety, integrity and longevity.

“Having an office in Aberdeen is the right next step to take in order to be fully available to our growing customer base in the United Kingdom, Norway and the rest of Europe,” explains Jason Gillham. “We’re delighted that companies in the region have responded so well to our solutions and we look forward to being more accessible.”
