Boltight Increases Tool Stock to Meet Subsea Market Demand

Boltight has increased the ex-stock availability of its range of subsea bolt tensioners, flange pullers and nut splitters to satisfy the seasonal demand of the offshore oil and gas industry.

Subsea Hydraulic Bolt Tensioning Tools

As weather conditions start to improve in many of the world’s oilfields, a fast turnaround on hydraulic bolt tensioning equipment is seen as critical to maximizing subsea operations.

The company supplies a wide range of subsea tools as well as ancillary equipment including pumps and hoses. Manufactured to exacting safety standards to strong and robust designs, the tools are durable and have a long operating life. They are in use all over the world from the North Sea to Nigeria and South East Asia to the USA.

Boltight’s tools are held at key regional locations ready for immediate delivery to the major oil production sites. Custom-built tools are also available on short lead times thanks to the utilization of state-of-the art design concepts and innovative manufacturing techniques.

The company’s subsea bolt tensioners feature split reaction nuts, a lifting eye bolt, a combined body and bridge, 30mm piston stroke, 1500 bar operating pressure, single or twin hydraulic connections and a maximum piston stroke indicator.

Explained Boltight’s Engineering Manager, Dave Metzger: “At this time of year there has to be a fast turnaround on bolt tensioning equipment and replacement parts for the offshore market to ensure there are no interruptions to time critical operations. In anticipation of seasonal demand we have increased our stock levels so we can process orders quickly and efficiently. Our customers benefit from this service at a local level through our worldwide network of representatives.”
