DONG Energy, Nexans Ink Offshore Wind Cable Deal (UK)

In July, DONG Energy and the Nexans signed a framework contract for the delivery of up to 1,750 kilometers of submarine cable for wind farms off the UK coast.

The cables are used for the inter connection of the wind turbines and for their connection to an offshore transformer platform. The framework contract runs until the end of 2020 and has an extension option of two years.

The Danish energy company also has the opportunity to expand the scope of services for the supply and installation of accessories for the cable.

DONG Energy has already equipped several large wind farms with Nexans cables, for example, West of Duddon Sands and Westermost Rough in the United Kingdom, as well as German offshore wind farms Borkum Riffgrund and Gode Wind 1 and 2.
