Shell, BP & Atkins to Tackle Codes at Lead SIM Summit

Developing codes and standards for structural integrity has never been so critical for ageing North Sea structures.

Industry veterans Terry Rhodes, Shell’s Head of Offshore Structures, and Ramsay Fraser, BP’s Segment Engineering Technical Authority – Offshore Structures, are among the experts to address gaps and issues in codes for structural integrity at the 3^rd annual Structural Integrity Management (SIM) conference in Aberdeen in November.

Their new and unique workshop on the subject will be the vital meeting point for any structural engineer in the offshore sector. With added participation from HSE and Atkins, it is obvious that usability of standards is an issue that needs to be addressed. This intimate workshop will provide structural engineers with a clearer vision on how to assess safety and risk.

Adding to this exceptional line up, Phil Smedley, BP’s Structures Advisor, will push the discussions further by evaluating the industry responses for improving reliability of floating structures and mooring lines.
