Today, DNV GL celebrates its 150th anniversary of DNV and the one year of the DNV GL merger in The Hermitage and The National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam.

DNV GL wishes to celebrate this milestone primarily by looking ahead and has therefore developed six strategic themes for a safe and sustainable future.

Four of these are demonstrated today by DNV GL experts: electric power for the future, the future of shipping, adjustments for a changing climate, and the role of gas in the energy transition. In addition, English scientist Gabrielle Walker will explain how global warming can be counteracted.

A year ago, the Norwegian company Det Norske Veritas (DNV) merged with Germanischer Lloyd (GL) from Germany, forming a new company called DNV GL with 16,000 experts in 100 countries across the globe. DNV GL also owns Dutch KEMA, which was acquired by DNV in 2012. The three companies combined have more than 300 years of experience in certifying, testing and consultancy in shipping, electric power and the oil and gas industry. The business assurance branch certifies practically all industries in the Netherlands for ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 for sustainable and responsible management.
