J2 Subsea to Get Another Fathom iVP Control System

Portlethen-based, Fathom Systems, has secured an order for the subsea tooling control system packages from an Acteon company, J2 Subsea.

According to Fathom Systems, the scope of supply includes fully proportional intelligent valve packs, specifically for heavy duty manipulator arm operations and using Fathom proprietary software with an Xbox gaming console HMI.

The field proven system derives from the iVP product family, of which the manipulator arm controller is available exclusively from J2 Subsea.

Previously, Fathom Systems has supplied J2 with a number of fully proportional valve packs (iVP) to operate specifically with the Schilling Atlas 7 function manipulator arm.

The manufacturer says that these proportional valves provide accurate and smooth control of the hydraulic functions without the need for external fixed flow throttles.
