A total of 48 Vietnamese sailors were rescued after six cargo vessels sank or run aground in the Qisha Port area in Fangchenggang, China.

The incident happened on July 27, 2015, when the vessels were caught in a storm, with waves reaching 4-5 meters, China Daily reported.

Fangchenggang Maritime Search and Rescue Center launched search and rescue operation after receiving several distress calls from the vessels.

They managed to save all crew members from five vessels.

Qisha port is the main entrance of coal, ore, and marine products from Vietnam to Guangxi, receiving dozens of Vietnamese ships every day.
