GeoSea Lands Galloper EPCI Foundation Deal

GeoSea Lands Galloper EPCI Foundation DealBelgian GeoSea, member of DEME Group, has been awarded a Galloper offshore wind farm EPCI foundation contract with RWE Innogy UK.

Galloper offshore wind farm project is located 27 km off the Suffolk coast.

Under the contract, GeoSea will deliver design, fabrication and installation of 56 steel monopile foundations, which will be driven into the seabed to provide a solid base for each of the wind turbines.

“The monopiles which will be used for this project are the heaviest that GeoSea ever installed with weights in excess of 1100 tons. The installation of the foundations at the offshore site is scheduled towards the end of 2016,” the company said in a press release.

In addition, the scour protection works for the foundations will be undertaken by Tideway, another company within the DEME Group.

According to the company, the total value of the project will boost GeoSea’s turnover by more than € 340 million.
