Fugro Lands Another Pemex Extension

Dutch subsea and survey specialist, Fugro, has been awarded a contract extension by Mexican national oil company, Pemex, to support its exploration drilling activities in the Bay of Campeche.

The latest deal follows previously secured $13-million extension for the October campaign in support of exploration drilling activities in the Bay of Campeche and deepwater locations in the Perdido area.

Under the contract, Fugro will carry out geophysical and geotechnical field operations, laboratory testing and geoconsulting activities.

The ultra-deepwater geotechnical and well services vessel ‘Fugro Synergy’ will be used for the field programme, which starts this month, while the geoconsulting programme will continue through 2016.

According to the company, the contract extension is valued at about $20 million.
