Norfolk Marine Wraps Up Scroby Sands OWF Phase 1 Checkup

Norfolk Marine has completed the 1st phase of a three-year framework agreement with E.on Climate & Renewables UK Offshore Wind to provide subsea inspection services to Scroby Sands OWF.

The contract is being carried out as a turnkey service package utilising the company’s own vessels, specialist dive teams and in-house NDT inspection equipment.

A full assessment of the condition of all subsea structures on the site is being carried out to ensure the long term integrity of the monopole foundations. The inspection contract covers seabed scour, coatings condition, cathodic protection condition and steel thickness readings along with a general condition assessment.

The works are being completed from the company’s Operations Facility on South Wharf in the Port of Lowestoft.

Good weather conditions combined with detailed planning and preparation allowed the company’s dive team and vessel crew to complete 80% of the contracted works during the first year’s campaign.
