Subcon Delivers Port Macquarie Artificial Reef

Subcon has delivered its 6th offshore artificial reef project in two years.

The design includes 20 fibre reinforced concrete ReefTemple modules each fitted with a steel BaitTower. The modules weigh over 23Te each and stand between 6.5m and 10m tall. They have been installed in approximately 45m water depth at a site 3m off the coast of Port Macquarie.

Dr Health Folpp, manager fisheries enhancement & occupational diving at NSW DPI – Fisheries, said: “Again Subcon brought a very high level of Knowledge and Professionalism that ensured the safe completion of a very challenging project.”

The reef provides the next instalment in a series of offshore reefs along the coast which have been funded by the DPI using recreational fishing license fees.
