Wintershall: Maria Subsea Templates Arrive in Kristiansund

Two subsea templates for Wintershall’s Maria field have arrived in Kristiansund onboard the heavy load carrier Meri, the company informed through its social media.

The two subsea templates host installations in the area.

The reservoir will be linked via a subsea tieback to the Kristin, Heidrun and Åsgard B production platforms.

According to Wintershall, the templates, which will be installed at a water depth of 300 meters, are each the size of a basketball court and weigh about 285 tons.

The Maria field is located approximately 20 kilometers east of the Kristin field and about 45 kilometres south of the Heidrun field in the Norwegian Sea.

The approximately NOK 15 billion development is expected to start production in 2018.
