Flexlife Gets Malaysian Patent for Armadillo Repair Clamp

Flexlife has been granted a Malaysian patent for ‘Method and apparatus for repairing tubular members’, for the use of Flexlife’s Armadillo repair clamp for flexible flowlines and risers.

The Armadillo is clamped around the flexible at the location of the known outer sheath damage and is filled with a pressure compensated sealing fluid (FlexGel) which seals off the damaged section of the riser, the company explained.

Flexlife CEO Garry Millard said: “The development and introduction of new technologies is key to Flexlife’s strategy, enabling growth via market penetration and global expansion in the inspection, maintenance and repair sector, the granting of this patent further endorses Flexlife’s technology portfolio.”
