Havila Alters DeepOcean Vessel Deal

Oslo-listed Havila Shipping and subsea contractor DeepOcean have decided to modify the chartering contract for the vessel Havila Phoenix.

The 2009 built subsea vessel was previously signed on a contract, with commencement in Q1 2014, for a firm period of 7 years with 4 optional periods each of 1 year.

According to the Norwegian vessel owner, the new deal decreases the payable dayrate for period in exchange for a contract extension.

Havila Phoenix is a Havyard 858 design, delivered from Havyard’s shipyard in Leirvik as a construction vessel, after which it was converted for cable laying and trenching operations, which included the lengthening the vessel by 17.4 meters to accommodate the new equipment.
