Schottel Hydro Tests Triton at Hamburg Ship Model Basin

Schottel Hydro is conducting tests of the Triton tidal energy platform at the Hamburg Ship Model Basin.

The company is testing a 1:17 scale Triton model at the Hamburg Ship Model Basin, a private organisation providing research and consultancy services to the maritime industry.

According to Schottel Hydro this is the second campaign and it’s focusing on operational aspects as well as validation of numerical data for various operational conditions at the Minas Passage site.

The full scale semi-submersible Triton platform will host Schottel Hydro turbines generating up to 2.5 MW of power.
