MasterFlow 9800 Grout for Beatrice OWF

Seaway Heavy Lifting has selected BASF, as part of the grouting subcontract with FoundOcean, for the supply of MasterFlow 9800 to the Beatrice offshore wind farm project.

The grout will be installed by BASF’s licensed contractor FoundOcean.

MasterFlow 9800 grout was mainly chosen for the grouting of the 84 jacket foundations for the Beatrice wind turbines and two jackets for the offshore transmission modules.

‘’The development of MasterFlow 9800 by BASF in conjunction with our partner FoundOcean demonstrates the continued development of revolutionary materials and installation methods to meet our customers’ requirements. The unique design of MasterFlow 9800 contributes to continued cost reduction of offshore wind energy”, says Charles Elins, European Offshore Key Account Manager of BASF.

The £2.6bn Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) project has been given the green light for construction by owners SSE (40%), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) (35%) and Red Rock Power Limited (25%) after reaching Financial Close in May 2016.
