Ashley Duncan, SEA board member and business development manager at TechnipFMC, welcomed the 130 guests and said: “It is through the tenacity and determination of our industry’s workforce that during the past five decades we have pushed the boundaries of technology to meet the challenges to deliver some of the largest and most challenging projects in the world. Our 2017 Awards highlight and share the examples of success in the last year, inspiring our drive for improvement in the future.

“We want to commend those who have been breaking down barriers and developing techniques, which are extending the life of our industry, and hope that this inspires the continued development that is critical to our future.”

This year’s nominees were judged by Hosi Sabavala, technology & innovation manager – Upstream at Woodside Energy, Jill Stajduhar, general manager Industry Research and Innovation at NERA and Brian Guest, subsea engineer – Australia Production Unit at BHP Billiton.

In order for our industry to sustain itself and to grow, it is essential we improve industry collaboration.
