ConocoPhillips Prepares for Ekofisk Structures Removal

ConocoPhillips has received consent from Petroleum Safety AUthoritx (PSA) Norway for preparations for and the start of the removal of minor structures from the Ekofisk field facilities.

The consent also includes the installation of a temporary crane on Ekofisk 2/4 FTP.

ConocoPhillips has applied to the PSA for consent to dispose of the Ekofisk 2/4 H, Ekofisk 2/4 A, Ekofisk 2/4 FTP and Ekofisk 2/4 Q facilities.

“We have now given the company consent for parts of the work. The consent covers the initiation of preparatory work offshore and the start of the removal of minor structures, as well as the installation of a temporary crane on Ekofisk 2/4-FTP,” PSA said.

In addition, PSA noted that it’s dealing separately with the remainder of ConocoPhillips’ consent application.
