70 Jobs at Risk as Aker Solutions Targets New Cuts

In a release on Wednesday, the subsea solutions provider said it targets cost-efficiency savings of minimum 50 percent by the end of 2021, when compared to its 2015 costs and work volumes.

According to the company’s spokesperson, Stina Kildedal-Johannessen, as many as 70 onshore and offshore employees may be affected by this new capacity adjustment. It is said that there will also be a need for temporary layoffs.

To remind, as many as 100 employees, mainly offshore workers, were temporarily laid off at Ågotnes subsea services businesses in the previous round of capacity adjustments.

The new measures will take place in the second half of this year, spokesperson added.
