FairfieldNodal Set for Libra Seismic Acquisition Off Brazil

FairfieldNodal is set to begin 3D seismic acquisition for the Libra consortium offshore Brazil.

FairfieldNodal secured the contract by the Libra consortium to acquire and process high-resolution 3D marine seismic in April 2017.

The consortium is led by Petrobras, and includes Total, Royal Dutch Shell, China National Petroleum Corporation and CNOOC.

The Libra project, FairfieldNodal’s first such project offshore Brazil, will utilize the proprietary Z3000 ocean bottom node system, which is ideally suited for acquisition around the dense infrastructure and challenging pre-salt imaging conditions in the region, the company explained.

According to the company, the seismic data acquired through this survey will help the operator to make critical decisions for the development of the field.
