Bureau Veritas Bags £7.5m in North Sea Deals

Bureau Veritas is looking ahead to positive start to 2018 securing contracts worth more than £7.5 million over the past two months, for its North Sea Offshore Operations business.

Bureau Veritas has won new contracts with several operators, as well as a number of extensions on existing contracts, with projects ranging from dynamic positioning assurance, independent verification, certification & classification to marine assurance and marine warranty.

Paul Shrieve, regional CEO, North Sea Offshore Operations, said: “At Bureau Veritas we are committed to providing our customers with the best service possible across a wide range of TIC requirements.

“These recent contract wins show there is continued life in the North Sea, and reaffirms our long term commitment to the market.”

Additionally, Bureau Veritas owned company, MAC has won one of the largest projects secured since the maritime assurance service company was established.

The project will see the delivery of work in relation to a large scale decommissioning project. The scope involves the provision of assurance and warranty services for the removal and safe transportation ashore of platform jackets and topsides.

Operated by MAC from its base in Aberdeen, the project will use personnel from across Europe in order to deliver the project successfully.

Graeme Reid, managing director, MAC, said: “Bureau Veritas has had a strong and concentrated focus on its global offering for decommissioning in recent months and this project represents a solid step in the right direction, offering a key services component within the decommissioning portfolio.”

Paul Shrieve added: “The hard work of everyone at Bureau Veritas and MAC has led to a strong second half of 2017 and a promising outlook for 2018 for Aberdeen. This is a clear indication of the optimism and resilience that exists not only in Bureau Veritas, but in the oil and gas industry at large.”
