SubC Joins Forces with OceanGate
SubC has become a strategic affiliate with OceanGate, a provider of subsea manned submersible solutions for industry, research and exploration.
SubC Imaging cameras and lights will be installed on OceanGate’s Cyclops 2 submersible, which will be used in the survey of the Titanic shipwreck.
Cyclops 2 will carry one Rayfin 4K camera, one 1Cam MK6, Aquorea LED light, and utilize the SubC DVRO software throughout the Titanic Survey Expedition.
The six-week Titanic Survey Expedition will depart from St. John’s, Newfoundland in June.
According to OceanGate, the equipment will be used in capturing the 4K images and video of the wreck.
The images and video will be used to create a virtual 3D model of the wreck serving as an objective baseline to assess the decay of the wreck over time and help to document and preserve its submerged history.
