PSA Inspects Subsea Facilities on Faroe’s Oselvar and Trym Fields

Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has inspected Faroe Petroleum Norge and its management of the integrity of pipelines and subsea facilities on the Oselvar and Trym fields.

The objective of the audit was to gain an overview of the integrity management of pipelines and subsea facilities for which Faroe is responsible as the operator of the two fields.

According to PSA, no non-conformities or improvement points were identified.

The company shut down the production of Oselvar in April, and is currently assessing the viability of resuming production from the field at a later date.

The Oselvar field is located in the southern part of the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, 21 kilometers southwest of Ula. The development concept is a subsea template with three horizontal production wells tied to Ula.

Parts of the infrastructure are being transferred to Oda and used for tying this field to Ula.

The Trym field, located in the southern part of the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, is scheduled for temporary production shutdown in Q3 2019, as a result of the upgrade to the Tyra field on the Danish shelf. Production is scheduled to resume in 2022.

The field was developed using a subsea template including two horizontal production wells, tied to the Harald facility in the Danish sector.
