BMT Wins Environmental Support Deal on Galapagos Field

BMT has secured a master services agreement to provide environmental support for UKCS operator, Bridge Petroleum Limited (Bridge), as part of its field development work for the large Galapagos Field situated in the East Shetland basin.

Under this new contract, BMT will complete the necessary Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to facilitate the preparation of the environmental statement, which aligns with the project planning, permitting and management of regulatory requirements of the UK oil and gas industry.

David Williams, managing director of Bridge comments: “In our view, BMT’s strong pedigree for preparing and delivering high quality Environmental Statements for the UKCS is second to none. We are confident that the team can help us to assess the environmental impacts and satisfy the regulatory requirements accurately and objectively.”

Andrew Glass, managing director of BMT Cordah says: “This is another great award for us and testament to the confidence our clients have in our ability to deliver a high-quality service. With over 30 years’ experience of working in the North Sea, we have a strong understanding of the relevant environmental regulations, directives and international agreements to support customers through this detailed application process.”
