Petrofac Scoops Up Husky Oil China Job

Petrofac’s engineering & production services (EPS) East division has secured a project support and engineering services contract with Husky Oil China.

The three-year contract is in support of Husky’s Liuhua 29-1 gas field development project located offshore at the Pearl River Mouth Basin, South China Sea, approximately 300 kilometers southeast of Hong Kong.

The scope of services includes the provision of specialist personnel to support the project through execution and pre-commissioning, and to subsequently support operations during commissioning and start-up.

The program of work includes subsea equipment supply, umbilicals and flexibles supply; and overall engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI). The team will be co-located with Husky’s project team in Shekou, China as well as in the main contractors’ offices throughout the execution of the project.

Mani Rajapathy, managing director, Petrofac EPS East, said: “We are delighted to have been selected to support Husky Oil China with their operations offshore and the development of the Liuhua 29-1 project. This builds on our other recent project management contract awards and represents the continued growth of our portfolio track record in the Asia Pacific region. We look forward to deploying our expertise and playing a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of this important deep-water gas project.”
