Ocean Infinity has been awarded a contract by Woodside to provide data in support of the Scarborough field development.

The Scarborough field is located 375 kilometers west-north-west of the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia.

The contract involves a deepwater geophysical pre-engineering route survey, extending approximately 300 kilometers from the Scarborough subsea field in 950 to 1400 meter water depths up the scarp break towards existing onshore LNG processing facilities on the Burrup Peninsula.

Ocean Infinity will deploy multiple AUVs simultaneously from the 115-meter vessel Seabed Constructor to collect the data required for Woodside’s route engineering design.

The deepwater geophysical survey project will begin in mid-June 2018.

Oliver Plunkett, Ocean Infinity’s CEO, said: “This contract represents Ocean Infinity’s ability to support the offshore energy sector. We have worked closely with Woodside in developing a robust solution which meets their demand for high quality data delivered in a time critical, innovative and cost-effective way.”
