Ashtead Names New Corporate Development Director

Ashtead Technology has appointed Stephen Steele as corporate development director.

Steele brings more than 20 years of oil and gas experience to the business and will play a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s market position as it aims to drive further international expansion and widen its service offering.

Based at the company’s UK headquarters in Aberdeen, Steele will lead Ashtead’s acquisition activity while developing strategic partnerships to support the company’s growth strategy.

Prior to joining Ashtead, Steele was vice president of i-Tech Services at Subsea 7 where he defined and implemented the company’s life of field strategy to enhance project delivery and the provision of enabling technologies.

He has also held a number of senior leadership roles, both in the UK and Norway, including vice president of sales, marketing and strategy at Subsea 7 and group supply chain director at Cooper Cameron, now OneSubsea.

Allan Pirie, CEO of Ashtead Technology, said: “We are in a great position to achieve our future ambitions as a business and Stephen’s appointment will be pivotal in driving forward the next stage of our development. He has significant experience in delivering business growth and will be a valuable addition to our senior management team.”

Commenting on his appointment, Steele added: “Ashtead Technology is a very ambitious company and continues to strengthen its service offering both by investment in new technologies and people, and through acquisition. Innovation, service quality and building strong client relationships are core components of Ashtead and I’m really excited to be joining such an experienced, knowledgeable and talented team.”
