Rovco Adds Saab Seaeye Falcon DR ROV

UK subsea services company, Rovco, has expanded its ROV and hydrographic survey capabilities with the addition of a Saab Seaeye Falcon DR ROV to its fleet.

The 1000m depth rated, long range Falcon DR is an electric underwater robotic system which will be used in commercial purposes and to support Rovco’s R&D projects.

The Falcon DR marks a £200,000 investment for the firm and is part of its expansion programme.

The addition of the Falcon brings Rovco’s range of survey class ROVs up to five.

Brian Allen, CEO of Rovco, said: “The addition of the Falcon ROV is the latest in a series of developments within the business and reflects our continued expansion.

“The Falcon is part of a planned £2-3 million investment into our latest technology and will allow us to grow our inspection and R&D capabilities. Alongside commercial use, it will be used to expand our research into autonomous path planning, allowing us to develop our service offering and ensure we continue to be at the forefront of innovative subsea tech.”
