McDermott International has received two contracts from Saudi Aramco for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services in the Marjan field, offshore Saudi Arabia.

According to McDermott, the first contract, valued between USD 500 million and USD 750 million, includes the design, procurement, fabrication, and installation, testing and pre-commissioning of the TP-10 tie-in platform, six gas lift topside modules and associated pipeline and subsea cables.

The total weight of the structures will exceed 29,000 short tons (27,000 metric tons) and pipelines totaling over 40 miles (65 kilometers).

McDermott will utilize Derrick Barge 50 and Derrick Barge 27 to execute the work.

The fabrication work on the project will be done from McDermott’s Jebel Ali yard in Dubai and Dammam yard in Saudi Arabia, while the engineering work will be executed from both Dubai and the Al Khobar office in Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, the second contract, valued between USD 50 million and USD 250 million, includes the full suite of EPCI services for the upgrade of two existing platforms related to the installation of associated equipment for electrical submersible pumps (ESPs) and space for a future high integrity pressure protection system (HIPPS), subsea composite cable lay and topside cable tie-ins.

The work under the second contract will be fully executed from McDermott’s Al Khobar office and Dammam fabrication facility.

Work on both projects is expected to begin immediately.
