The oil and gas industry not only consumes large amounts of water but also produces large amounts of water during extraction of oil and gas. Water management is becoming an increasing important aspect of the oilfield cycle. It is important, not only from a technical and economic, but also from an environment point of view. Meeting specific requirements means guaranteeing production continuity and complying with increasingly strict environmental standards. The challenge that the industry is facing is to make water treatment economic, monitor aquifers after injection of fluid waste and transporting water in remote locations. The industry is moving towards less expensive facilities with lower fuel costs and usage of flex pipe and storage solutions for moving water in remote areas.
