Reliance Globalcom Upgrades Its European Network

Reliance Globalcom, Telecom services provider with international subsea cable assets spanning over 73,000 route kilometers, announced that it will upgrade its European Network with Ciena’s technology.

According to ciol.com, the company will use Ciena’s 6500 packet optical platform and WaveLogic coherent optical processors to deploy a 100G network.

Punit Garg, president & CEO, Reliance Globalcom said: “The 100G deployment will enable significant bandwidth scalability, flexibility, and improved performance, while reducing the overall costs for our customers”.

It is estimated that the part of the European network that connects Marseilles, London, Paris and Frankfurt will be upgraded with 100G wavelength technology by the end of 2012.
