RS Survey of Subsea Pipelines Seminar Held in Volzhsky, Russia

A seminar on RS survey of subsea pipelines was held with the RS organisational support in the town of Volzhsky, the Volgograd Region.

Representatives of oil and gas industry including OOO LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft, Saipem S.p.A., OOO Volgograd NIPImorneft, Moscow Pipe-Coating Plant OJSC, ООО Neftegazdiagnostika, OOO Petroslav Gydroservis, etc. took part in the seminar.

The seminar addressed to the wide range of issues, namely: manufacture of steel seamless pipes, their protection against harmful exposure, various types of pipe diagnostic approaches and examination of welded joints, pipe laying, methods of underwater survey and repair of pipelines. The most interest was attracted by the presentation of a Saipem S.p.A. representative Mr John Burman, who shared the company’s vast experience in manufacture of subsea pipes and performance of marine operations.

The seminar concluded with a visit to OAO Volzhsky Trubny Zavod where the process of subsea pipeline manufacture for V. Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea was demonstrated.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping is hopeful that the presentations will be useful for the participants and will be of a great value for all the parties interested in the implementation of subsea pipelines manufacture projects.
