DeepOcean CMR4 Trenching Remotely Operated Vehicle

DeepOcean UK, Ltd., a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding BV, today announced an award from Statoil for the Aasta Hansteen fibre optic cable.

The project includes procurement, installation and burial of 140km of fibre optic cable in water depths up to 1300m. The Aasta Hansteen project is the first deep water development in the Norwegian Sea and represents a new and important step in the development of activity in the area.

DeepOcean will mobilise a number of vehicles from its world‐class fleet including the MD3 Cable Plough and the CMR4 trenching Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). Installation is due to take place in Q2 2014 from the Maersk Recorder.

Tony Inglis, DeepOcean UK Managing Director, states “This project brings together a number of our key assets and demonstrates confidence in our ability to manage complex projects in harsh environments. This is a great reward for our team in the UK, where we have developed a long track record in subsea installation and intervention. We are delighted to be working with Statoil again on a high profile project in Norway.”
