Bibby Offshore Headquarters Enter Final Stage of Construction, UK

The new purpose-built headquarters for subsea installation contractor, Bibby Offshore is entering its final phase of construction.

The new 53,427 sq. ft. office facility at Prospect Park, Westhill, which represents a multi-million pound investment, is on track to be completed by April 2013. Bibby Offshore staff are due to relocate from its existing offices at Waterloo Quay to the new premises by the end of May 2013.

A planning application has also been submitted for a new warehouse workshop and yard on Peregrine Road, Westhill. It comprises 3,800 sq ft of office space, 18,500 sq ft workshop/warehouse space with a 5,000 sq ft mezzanine deck and 33,000 sq ft yard. Construction of this new facility will be carried out by developer, Dandara and is anticipated to begin around April/May 2013, with a projected completion date of the end of 2013.

Bibby Offshore’s chief executive Howard Woodcock said: “Development of the office site has progressed well and we are pleased that it is running on schedule.

“Westhill is a prime location for our business and the specification of the building meets the needs of our operations, whilst providing the capacity for continued growth, as our staff numbers and services continue to increase across the UK and internationally.

“Demand for our services is forecasted to rise significantly over the next five years and the planned warehouse facility will include a fully equipped workshop and maintenance bays, allowing for the expansion of the ROV fleet for Bibby Remote Intervention Limited (BRIL). The warehouse will also accommodate the additional supply chain management support needed to facilitate Bibby Offshore’s vessel fleet growth.”

The new Bibby Offshore headquarters are being developed by Knight Property Group.

Howard Crawshaw, director of Knight Property Group, said: “The new headquarters of Bibby Offshore is the largest pavilion on the Prospect Park site. Attracting businesses of this calibre is testament to the high quality of the facilities provided and we look forward to handing over the completed building to Bibby Offshore in April. Work on the fourth and final pavilion is underway and on completion will cover 116,000 sq ft, representing a site development phase of 14 months.”

Bibby Offshore currently has more than 1,000 people working onshore and offshore worldwide, with offices in Aberdeen, Liverpool, Singapore and Trinidad. It recently added two new vessels to the fleet and continues to expand its subsea construction, engineering and project delivery services.
