INPEX Appoints New Ichthys LNG Project Managing Director

INPEX CORPORATION, Operator of the Ichthys LNG Project, has appointed Louis Bon as Managing Director Ichthys LNG Project.

Mr Bon succeeds Antoine Serceau, who will be returning to France after three years of excellent leadership at the helm of the Ichthys LNG Project.

Mr Bon comes to the Project with more than 30 years of international industry experience with TOTAL, where he has held a variety of senior management roles across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Prior to being seconded to the Project Mr Bon’s most recent position with TOTAL was Vice President Operations, with responsibility for world-wide field operations and drilling activities.

Previous senior roles with TOTAL included Project Director of Pazflor, a major offshore deep water development in Angola and Deputy Vice President Projects and Construction for all TOTAL exploration and production projects.

INPEX President Director Australia Seiya Ito said the company was delighted to have someone with Mr Bon’s extensive experience heading-up its flagship LNG development.

“Louis brings to the Ichthys LNG Project a combination of deep industry knowledge and global project management experience,” Mr Ito said.

“His proven record of successfully delivering major oil and gas projects around the world gives us great confidence and I look forward to working with him.”

In making the announcement Mr Ito acknowledged the outstanding contribution Mr Serceau had made to the Ichthys LNG Project.

“Antoine has been instrumental in leading the Project to date and has overseen the achievement of significant milestones, including the final investment decision, commencement of onshore works and first steel cutting for all major offshore facilities,” Mr Ito said.

“Louis will pick up on this excellent progress following a comprehensive hand-over period to ensure a seamless transition.”
