Veripos to Provide Precise Satellite Positioning for Swire Pacific Offshore

Swire Pacific Offshore Operations (Pte) Ltd (SPO), one of the world’s leading owners and operators of quality support vessels to the offshore sector has awarded a three-year contract to Veripos for the provision of precise satellite positioning.

Under the terms of the contract, Veripos will provide precise positioning services to SPO’s existing fleet of more than 80 vessels globally. The SPO fleet will progressively expand to over 100 vessels by the end 2015. Veripos is currently providing services to a significant number of SPO vessels in Asia, Africa and Europe and will be completing the installation on the remaining vessels in the coming months.

As part of the commercial arrangement, Veripos will be standardising the equipment on the fleet to the LID5-GG2 and all SPO vessels will be using a mix of VERIPOS Apex2, Ultra2, Apex and Ultra, services which are capable of providing of better than 10cm positioning accuracy using GPS and Glonass satellite systems.
