Total Awards a Three-Year Contract to Welltec (UK)

Total E&P UK Ltd awards Welltec a 3-year contract including possibility for a further two, 1-year extensions.

The contract covers the scope of Tractor Conveyance, Tubing Cutting, Clean-out and Milling based, e-line intervention services.

“Recognizing the innovative technologies and the associated value proposition which Welltec has to offer, Total E&P UK Ltd as part of their on-going development programs have awarded Welltec this key contract. Total E&P UK Ltd looks very much forward to having direct access to Welltec and its robotic electric line based intervention services in its on-going operations,” stated Philippe Falxa, Total E&P UK Ltd Well Completion & Integrity Section Leader.

Lars Mangal, Welltec Chief Commercial Officer & Senior Vice President of UK, Russia/CIS and Continental Europe, explains “This award will give Welltec its first direct contract with Total in the UK, Total being one of the key operators in the North Sea operating a number of offshore drilling rigs and production platforms including subsea wells. The scope for Welltec to demonstrate our unique, inherently safer robotic electric line deployed intervention technologies and methodologies is now strongly enabled. Compared to traditional pipe based intervention methods, Welltec will enable well intervention operations to be mobilized at short notice and with significantly reduced operational risk.”
