DOE Announces Notice of Intent to Fund MHK Instrumentation

The Water Power Program of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently issued a Notice of Intent for a funding opportunity expected to be posted early this year, pending congressional appropriations.

The Notice of Intent, titled “Environmental Stewardship for Renewable Energy Technologies: Marine and Hydrokinetic (MHK) Environmental and Resource Characterization Instrumentation“, intends to support the development of instrumentation, associated processing tools, and integration of instrumentation packages for the monitoring of environmental impacts of marine and hydrokinetic technologies and characterizing available wave resources.

The Water Power Program focuses on technological development and deployment of innovative technologies capable of generating electricity from water. The program funds research and development activities through competitive solicitations.
