Ocean Installer Bags Its First Air Diving Project on Dunlin Alpha Platform

Fairfield Energy Limited has awarded Ocean Installer a contract for air diving services and light subsea construction work at the Dunlin field.

The work scope involves air diving services on the Dunlin Alpha platform at -10m LAT for installation of sleeves, clamps and anodes, as well as additional light construction/inspection and repair tasks. The project will be managed from the Ocean Installer Aberdeen office, with onshore preparations starting immediately and offshore work starting in June this year. Ocean Installer will be utilising the Grand Canyon, a purpose built offshore construction/ROV/survey vessel owned by Canyon Offshore, the marine contracting business unit of Helix Energy Solutions.

“We are very pleased to have been awarded our first contract with Fairfield Energy Limited, which is also our first air diving project. We will work closely with the operator, as well as Canyon Offshore, to execute the job in a safe and timely manner,” says Martin Sisley, UK Managing Director of Ocean Installer.

The Dunlin field is part of the Dunlin cluster of fields, consisting of Dunlin, Dunlin SW, Osprey and Merlin. The cluster is located in Blocks 211/18, 211/23 and 211/24 of the UKCS, some 500km north-northeast of Aberdeen, within the East Shetland Basin.
