Registration Underway for ‘The BEEMS Final Dissemination Conference’

Southampton City Council, a leader of a project examining the scope for industry-led accredited marine renewable energy skills, is organizing ‘The BEEMS Final Dissemination Conference’.

The conference will be held on May 14, 2014 in Southampton Solent University Conference Centre, UK.

It is targeted at organizations working in the Marine Renewable Energy (MRE) sector interested in common cross border or global training standards.

Conference programme focus areas will include:

• Conveying the BEEMS vision of a common standard for developing workforce employment opportunities and practices in the MRE sector, including offshore wind, wave and tidal flow throughout the cross-border region;

• MRE industry engagement on common standards;

• Disseminating the outputs of the BEEMS project;

• Presenting the UK launch of the Anglo-French BEEMS training & education providers network;

• Next steps.

Iain Shepherd, Chairman of Marine South East, will chair the conference.

The industry experts to speak on the conference will be Ian Perryman - Technical Training Manager, Wind Power, Siemens; and Rob Moore - Client Manager, Renewables, National Skills Academy for Power.

The final BEEMS Final Dissemination Conference is a free to attend event which requires pre-registration.
