DNS Announces New ‘Lunch and Learn’ Event

Recent reports indicate that the scale of opportunity arising from North Sea decommissioning is growing, with industry set to spend at least £35billion by 2040.

As the dedicated North Sea industry forum, Decom North Sea (DNS) facilitates and drives collaboration with the key objective of delivering the most efficient and cost effective end of asset life solution development and delivery. It’s a pivotal role that ensures companies are informed, ready and able to make the very most of the opportunities available within the decommissioning industry. The DNS programme of monthly Lunch and Learn sessions exemplify this objective, with the next being held in Aberdeen on Wednesday, 12 November.

In the wake of the recent Offshore Decommissioning Conference, anyone with an interest in decommissioning, and what lies ahead for the sector is urged to attend the event which will give attendees from across the UK and Europe the opportunity to hear about and discuss vital sector developments whilst networking with key decommissioning players.

Industry focus will come from Babcock International Group, NORM services provider Scotoil Services Ltd, and legal firm Maclay, Murray and Spens, who will bring with them an example of the importance of cross-industry collaboration within decommissioning. As Kirsti Olson, Partner, Decommissioning, explains: “Our Decommissioning team has extensive experience of oil industry decommissioning projects in the North Sea, dealing with regulatory matters, drafting decommissioning and related contracts and assisting clients both during and after their projects to resolve any difficult issues arising.”
