National Hyperbaric Centre’s Dive Tank and outdoor facilities were recently used by a client to provide a controlled environment where proving tests and demonstrations could be carried out on a new purpose-built
, complete dive system.
The dive system, which consisted of: a dive control station, decompression chamber, LARS, H/W machine, HP compressor, machinery container, Electric HPU, gas quads, deluge system, rigging container, stores container, suitcase ROV, ROV van and recovery hoist: was positioned in the NHC yard with access to the Diving Tank.
The NHC provided environment where the deck plan equipment could be assembled and mobilised and NHC’s DiveTank simulated an ideal quay-side environment for diving operations to take place. Two days were spent arranging and setting up the system, which was invaluable training for the client’s employees as they could gain hands-on experience in a stable environment.
Functionality and efficiency of the individual elements as well as the system as a whole was ensured before the system could be deemed fully operational.
NHC received praise for their efficiency, staffing and ease of the operation from planning to completion.
