PSA OKs Statoil for Edvard Grieg Oil Pipeline
The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has given Statoil green light to use the Edvard Grieg Oil Pipeline (EGOP).
Earlier this month, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has also granted a start-up consent for the EGOP.
The Edvard Grieg Oil Pipeline system has been designed and built to transport stabilised oil from the Edvard Grieg facility to the Grane Oil Pipeline (GOP). The oil transport system includes a 43-kilometre long 28-inch pipeline.
After the oil is commingled at GOP it will then be transported on to the Sture terminal.
The Edvard Grieg field is in the North Sea, 35 kilometres south of Grane and Balder. Water depth is around 110 metres.
